Adrienne Yandell is an American starting her own company in Jordan — Work for Good — in an effort to accomplish a post-conflict economic recovery, specifically for refugees from Syria and neighboring countries affected by the war. After quitting her job as an engineer, the entrepreneur created her company while taking her MBA and aimed to help youth women and refugees to get training within an online freelance marketplace.
“I was working in the MENA region — not living here but working a week or two at a time for five years straight — and just seeing the impact of the refugee crisis just seeing what was happening in Syria you can’t ignore that once you’ve seen it, you can’t ignore that once you’ve seen people suffering like that and I couldn’t go back to the states to a job that would just line somebody’s pocket, it just wasn’t an option.”
